Gwen Rummell Reporting –

Several fire departments worked together to put out a fire spreading to nearby structures.

A call came into the Uhrichsville Fire Department at 7:55pm on Tuesday, October 10th for a fire on 839 N. Main St. On arrival, the fire was venting through the roof and two vehicles, one in the garage and another in the carport, were also on fire.

Captain Wes Dillon said the main concern upon units responding was the fire spreading.

“[The] biggest concern being there was two adjacent structures. One structure right behind the garage was only 8 feet from the rear of the garage. There was a structure across the alley from the garage and the siding was melting.”

The adjacent structures were occupied at the time, but they were able to get out with no injuries.

Assisting was the New Philadelphia, Dennison, and Arrowhead Fire Departments.

The Fire Marshal investigated the incident, and it remains undetermined at this time.
