The State Highway Patrol is commending area drivers for how they handled the snow event to start off the work week.

New Philadelphia post commander Lt. Johnnie Maier says they received just a handful of calls about cars sliding off into ditches or the median Monday morning.

Maier says the one report about a car that had possibly rolled over down an embankment off I-77 near U.S. 36 around 6:15 am turned out to be inaccurate

Maier encourages driving to continue paying attention and giving themselves plenty of time when snow is in the forecast.
