A motorcycle ride over the weekend provided a local non-profit with items that will go home with children.
The 2nd Riders of the Vine motorcycle run was held and transported donated items from 3 Roses Wine Cellars, in Bolivar, to Noah’s Hope Child Advocacy Center, in New Philadelphia.
The ride was open to anyone wanting to participate and Noah’s Executive Director Mandy Willet says they had about 25 riders join and bring the toys, games, and stuffed animals to the Center.
“Once we’re done with the interview and they’re getting ready to go home, we allow them to pick a comfort item to take home with them. We also give items to the kids that have to through the court process if their case goes to trial.”
The Advocacy Center provides a space for interviews related to abuse cases within Tuscarawas County. In 2022, they saw 158 youth, their highest number to date, with the age ranges being 36 children from zero to five, ages six to 12 was 74 children, and the range of 13 to 17 was 46 kids.
