It’s time to recognize another outstanding female for making a significant and lasting impact on Tuscarawas County through volunteerism.

The Lucille Nussdorfer woman of the year committee is taking nominations for its next class of honorees. Spokesperson Taylur Cunningham says a panel of judges will pick five finalists and invite them to a recognition banquet where one will be named the winner.

Only women who live, work, or volunteer in Tuscarawas County are eligible for the award, whose namesake founded the Dennison servicemen’s canteen during World War 2.

Woman of the year applications are available from the Dennison Depot railroad Museum and the Tuscarawas County Welcome Center in downtown New Philadelphia. The deadline to nominate a deserving woman is September 13th.
