Nora Yvonne Henline, 90, of Canton, Ohio, formerly of Marietta, Ohio,  peacefully passed away in the comfort of family, at the home of her son in Tippecanoe, Ohio, on Monday, April 4, 2022, after living a long and fulfilling life. Born October 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Carl H. Steed and Dorothy L. (Johnson) Steed-Kiddey.

Born and raised in Marietta, she was a graduate of Marietta High School and worked as a telephone operator until meeting her future husband. On November 6, 1954, she married Burlen Clarence “Bud” Henline with whom she enjoyed 61 years of marriage until his passing on November 28, 2015. They are survived by a son, John (Cindy) Henline; three daughters, Melissa Henline of Lufkin, TX, Mary Burris of Canton, OH, and Margi (Dan) Preston of  Oklahoma City, OK; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Nora is also survived by her sister, Polly Murphy, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl “Sonny” Steed, Jr. and James Steed, and a great-great-grandson, Steven “PJ” Coleman.

Nora was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a Girl Scout leader, an active member of her church, a member of the Washington County Historical Society, and a longtime member of the D.A.R.. Some of her loves included her family, the river, the beach, swimming, reading, cooking, and baking. Sunday drives, genealogy, the Cleveland Indians, tomatoes from the garden, canning, and wild birds were among her other favorite things, and of course, she loved her cats and black Pug dogs. She was a loving and much-loved mother who will be forever missed by her family and friends.

According to Nora’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. She will be interred beside her beloved husband at East Lawn Memorial Park in Reno, Ohio, near Marietta. Service details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys (Hospice) Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite-A, Baton Rouge, LA  70816.
