Mary Alice Reporting –

Individuals are invited to participate in a winter hike that will have three levels of difficulty.

Curtesy of United Way, the Norma Johnson Center, between Dover and Sugarcreek, will host the event for all age levels, with leashed pets permitted.

TuscParks Education Manager Marsha Freeland notes a welcome table will be setup from 10am to noon this Saturday.

“They can do one trail or they can do all three if they chose to, and then after they get done, they can come up to the picnic shelter and they’ll have hot soup and hot chocolate either before or after their hike.”

Events at the Center are typically free, but contributions are encouraged.

“The donations pretty much go right back into the property so if we are needing trail equipment, education equipment, or even to put on events that’s where the funds usually go back towards.”

The event will be held rain or shine, and participants should dress appropriately. Anyone with question can contact TuscParks or follow the Norma Johnson Center Facebook page for updates.
