The Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) announced over $5 million in federal Edward J. Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants (JAG) have been awarded to Ohio communities.
The annual grants support law enforcement crime prevention, prosecutors, courts, corrections facilities, crime victim and witness initiatives, and more.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio received almost $45,000, Harrison County Commissioners were granted around $27,000, and the Village of Carey in Wayne County received about $11,000.
Additionally, the City of Canton, the City of Alliance, and the Stark County Board of Commissioners were awarded about $38,000 altogether.
In total, 56 counties were funded for 153 projects.
