Gwen Rummell Reporting –

As the holiday season approaches, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is increasing efforts to minimize work zone impact and ensure easier journeys for traveling motorists.

While ODOT strives to eliminate work zones whenever possible, some ongoing projects cannot be closed due to various reasons, including closures and barricades.

To assist drivers during this busy period, ODOT recommends motorists use their website and mobile app, OHGO. OHGO provides real-time traffic updates, weather hazards, as well as current and future construction projects, says District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell.

OHGO also provides a category, location, route status, and start and end dates for each upcoming project. By viewing OHGO before departing on a trip, motorists can be more prepared when traveling.
