Drivers are learning where to expect major road work in the area for this year’s construction season.

ODOT District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell says 17 projects totaling $27 million are planned for Tuscarawas County this year. Those include four pavement, seven bridge and culvert, and six safety projects.

The biggest is a $3.6-million roadway rehab project on US 250 near McCauley Drive, which will have traffic in both directions down to one lane at times.

“This is on the main line of 250 through McCauley Drive and they will be removing and replacing the existing concrete section and then that also includes work on the ramps from US 36 west to US 250 west.”

ODOT also has a $3.4-million project with the Tuscarawas County Engineer’s office to widen nearly three miles of Dover Zoar Road from the Dover city limits to Schneiders Crossing.

Borell says drivers can “stay in the know” at ohgo.com and by subscribing to emails for travel updates at the bottom of transportation.ohio.gov.
