Nick McWilliams reporting – The Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 is proposing new sidewalks along U.S. Route 250 in Harrison County, and is looking for feedback.
The project would involve installing new sidewalk on the east side of 250 between the U.S. 22 on-ramp and Stanton Avenue in Cadiz.
The plan is to link together an existing sidewalk to the commercial area around the interchange, which improves accessibility and can help with pedestrian safety.
New right of ways will be needed for construction, which could begin as early as the spring of 2025 and last for around five months.
ODOT officials are asking residents about social, environmental, and economic impacts of the proposal, with written comments to be submitted to 2201 Reiser Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44662, Att: Thomas Stratton.
Submissions can also be emailed to thomas.stratton@dot.ohio.gov. All comments must be submitted no later than July 6th this year.
More information and an additional comment submission options is available at www.transportation.ohio.gov under the ODOT Projects tab.
