Mary Alice Reporting –

Energy rates are expected to be higher in the next monthly billing cycle and Ohio Farm Bureau members could find a better rate.

It would be through the OFB Energy Program and would allow members to discover rates by sending them their bill and receiving a review.

Director of Energy Policy Dale Arnold says electricity rates are climbing partly due to upgrades.

“For every dollar you’re seeing in energy prices, you are going to witness and see $4 in infrastructure upgrades. Electricity is a commodity, calls, puts, futures contracts, delivery points, pricing dictated by supply and demand over time.”

For any program participants, they will be given the knowledge of what they are paying and when it expires, since when a contract expires there not limit on what a supplier can charge.
