The Ohio House of Representatives have passed a bill to honor a former sheriff.
State Representatives Don Jones and Monica Robb Blasdel announced House Bill 81, which honors former Carroll County Sheriff Dale R. Williams who passed away on September 24th, 2022.
The bill designates a portion of State Route 39, between Carrollton and Dellroy, as “Sheriff Dale R. Williams Memorial Highway.”
State Representative Monica Robb Blasdel outlined the reasoning behind designating this portion to the House.
“Sheriff Williams not only grew up on the farm along State Route 39, between Carrollton and Dellroy, he also patrolled this stretch of highway throughout his 53 years in law enforcement. There isn’t a tribute more fitting than naming this highway in his honor.”
House Bill 81 has been introduced in the Senate, pending consideration.
