David Warther Carvings, in Sugarcreek, will hold the annual Museum Day Live event, despite Smithsonian Magazine’s pause on sponsorship.

Free tours will be offered to the public from 10 am to 5:00 pm this Saturday, September 21st, says David Warther.

“Folks can show up at any time and they would get a complete tour. [It would] be kind of a hop-on-hop-off type tour. You could come at any time and join in with the existing tour and then the next tour would catch up on what you may have missed.”

The museum features 91 carvings showcasing the history of ships from 3,000 B.C. to modern day sailing ship.

Warther notes that the museum day provides an opportunity for individuals to visit a museum and learn about something they might be hesitant to interact with if a ticket price is involved.
