The Elections Office will have extended hours for the final day to request an absentee ballot.

The primary election for Ohio is in one week and this election decides the contested party candidates who will move to the November general election, with local races including the 51st House of Representatives and 6th congressional district.

Tuscarawas Board of Elections Director Gail Garbrandt says for this week, the office will be open from 7:30am to 7:30pm.

But for this Tuesday, the 12th, it’s the final day to request an absentee ballot and the office is open until 8:30pm.

“And then the last day that we’re open for early voting is on Sunday St. Patrick’s Day. March 17th we will be open from one o’clock to 5pm.”

When going to the polls, on Tuesday, March 19th, voters are reminded to have a photo ID.
