Tuscarawas county residents will have a chance tonight to help shape the future of their communities.
The county economic development corporation is hosting an open house November 5th from 6 to 8pm at First Methodist Church in New Philadelphia as part of its grants-funded community roadmap project. The effort brings together residents, local leaders, and consultants to identify needs, explore opportunities, and develop long-term plans for 11 participating villages and cities.
Tusc EDC director Marla Akridge says the project is especially important for smaller communities that don’t have the resources to do this kind of planning on their own.
Tonight’s open house will feature community maps, consultants, and places for people to share ideas and suggest improvements. Resident can also submit feedback online through surveys and project materials linked on the Tusc EDC Facebook page.
The planning process runs through the first quarter of next year, with the EDC hoping to secure funding to put the roadmaps into action.
