Oscar Lewis Maxwell, 61, of Dennison, passed away suddenly, following an accident at his home, on Monday, March 7, 2022. Born October 26, 1960, in Dennison, he was a son of the late Adrian “Sonny” and Patty Jean (Benedum) Maxwell.
After his 1979 graduation from Claymont High School, Oscar proudly served his country in the U.S. Army until 1983. He was employed in shipping and receiving by Sears for 20 years, and had most recently held the same position for Freeport Press before retiring after 12 years. He was a member of the Dennison and Uhrichsville Eagles, the Uhrichsville Moose, and the Hey Jack Sportsman’s Club who faithfully attended Jamboree in the Hills for many years.
Oscar leaves behind his son, Dustin (Amanda Greenwood) Maxwell; daughter, Katrina Maxwell; grandchildren, Jamie Warmouth, Ian Warmoth, Carrie Warmoth, Cali Maxwell, Natalie Maxwell, Dustin Maxwell Jr., Maliah Harris, Dorian Harris, and Corbyn Devore; brothers, Bert J. (Debra) Maxwell and John A. (BabRhetta) Maxwell; sister, Jean Ann (Thomas) Clark; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former spouse, Sharon Finnie.
According to Oscar’s wishes, cremation is planned. A celebration of his life will be held on a future date, and this website will be updated with details as soon as they are confirmed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
