The State Highway Patrol New Philadelphia Post says it’s most recent sobriety checkpoint in sandy township was another success.
Post commander lt. Johnnie Maier says 381 vehicles came through the checkpoint Friday night on state route 800 near state route 212, resulting in zero arrests.
Troopers however did arrest one driver for OVI and cite another one for driving under suspension through saturation patrols on the roads near the checkpoint as it was going on.
Maier says provisional data shows there were 672 OVI-related fatal crashes with 725 deaths on Ohio roads last year.
