Alcohol and drugs appear to be a factor in a fatal Friday crash on Baltzley Valley Road.
Ohio State Highway Patrol’s New Philadelphia Post Sgt. William Bower says the 7:50pm one-vehicle accident occurred when 26-year-old Josh Goard, of Louisville, was southbound on County Road 69.
The GMC Acadia went off the right side and struck a culvert. This caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times ejecting Goard.
New Philadelphia EMS transported him to Union Hospital where Goard succumbed to sustained injuries.
Bower notes the crash remains under investigation.
