Troopers across Ohio were out in full force for the reporting period during the Independence Day weekend.

Overall, 11 people lost their lives in nine traffic crashes, a decrease of five deaths compared to 2022. Impairment was a factor in two accidents and a safety belt was not used in three. Carroll and Stark counties each had one fatality during the 2023 holiday weekend.

Other statewide data indicates over 130 impaired driving arrests and 96 drug-related charges. In total, OSP made over 13,600 contacts with the motoring public.

In Tuscarawas County, there were 152 incidents that Troopers responded to.
