Change is coming to the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas with continual show announcements instead of a curated seasonal schedule.

General Manager David Mitchell says the rolling booking model will allow the PAC to be more accommodating and potentially bring in headline artists.

“We’re excited about this change that we’re doing. It’s really going to give us flexibility. Throughout the year we’re constantly going to be announcing new shows. Now it’s going to be ongoing. We’re actually going to announce a show this week, in June, in July, and just keep rolling out these announcements. This is probably the most dramatic shift we’ve ever done by moving away from this season model. The industry is changing a little bit. The timelines on some of these tours are shortening so artists aren’t scheduling out even a year in advance.”

Becoming a PAC Member will help individuals stay connected and have early ticket access. Memberships start at $100 but those choosing the $250 or more membership will receive a $5 discount on all tickets for PAC presented shows.

“That support that we get is immense in what we can do and helps us basically keep our doors open. Ticket sales alone only cover about 61% of our operating budget. The rest of that is made up of sponsorships, grants that we write, donations, and our memberships.”

Additionally, PAC presented shows will have limited balcony “Cloud Club” seating, and these tickets will be $20 to allow for more accessibility to see live entertainment. The New Philadelphia venue also announced a Summer Movie Musical Series.
