The Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center says online scalpers continue trying to rip off people when it comes to shows at the venue.
General Manager David Mitchell says they have two shows at the PAC this season where tickets retail for 15 dollars, but third-party sites have them listed for 300 dollars.
Mitchell says these third-party websites are too easy to find and appear legitimate, even feature the PAC’s seating chart.
“They look really. They know what they’re doing, and they don’t have anything better to so it’s easy for them to fool the public.”
Mitchell says it’s best just to avoid these third-party sites.
“Whenever you’re buying tickets for any show, anywhere, just always start at the venues website and buy tickets there. That way the venue gets the money, the artist gets the money.”
Mitchell says lawmakers at the state and federal level have discussed legislation to tackle the issue, but to no avail so far.
