Pamela Jean Chaney, 76, of Bowerston, passed away at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare Truman House in New Philadelphia on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Born October 16, 1947 in Canton, she was a daughter of the late Glenn Howard Espenschied and Julia Mae (Miller) Espenschied Stevens.
On April 22, 1976, Pam married John R. “Jack” Chaney with whom she enjoyed 43 years of marriage until his passing on December 11, 2019. She devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker and leaves behind eight children, Tammy (Gary) Harlow, Kendra (companion, Danny Garabrandt) Jones, Machele (Ernie) Parrish, Melessa Carver, John (Alicia) Chaney, Denise Chaney, Marla Chaney, and Heather Leigh Chaney; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Joe (Marla) Stevens; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Lee Espenschied and Howard “Buddy” Stevens, and two sisters, Rhonda Stevens and Pamela Perdue.
According to Pam’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. She will be interred, along with her late husband, in Bowerston’s Longview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
