Mary Alice Reporting –

The local dog pound reported that they lost two dogs who tested positive for the parvovirus.

One dog was sent to a rescue and passed away and then a pittie was also lost.

The Tuscarawas County Dog Pound adds that a canine sibling, also sent to a rescue, is hospitalized at Animal Clinic Northview, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Jazzy was adopted by a family, who are now facing an expensive veterinarian bill.

It was also noted that another dog within the pound was also exposed.

Canine parvovirus is highly contagious to other canines, being spread by direct and indirect contact. Vaccines are available for prevention.
