Patricia L. “Pat” Doney, age 69, of Dover, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, in Dover’s Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital from complications of COVID-19.
Born February 19, 1953, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Roberta Hixson Wages. Patricia attended New Philadelphia High School and later earned her GED credential. She married Jack Doney on May 5, 1972; the couple raised three children and shared nearly 47 years of marriage prior to Jack’s passing on August 24, 2019. Patricia was employed as a home health aide, and as a bus driver for Starlight School and Dover City Schools.
She enjoyed going bowling, and, in her younger days, enjoyed horseback riding and playing tennis.
Patricia is survived by her children, Jessica and Richard (Viki) Doney, both of Dover; her grandchildren, Taylor, Cheyenne, Ava and Mylie; her siblings, Jo Rainsberg of Dover, and Greg (Brenda) Wages of Tuscarawas; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, and her husband, Jack, Patricia was preceded in death by her son, Robert Doney.
A graveside service is being planned, the date and time of which will be announced.
