Patrick J. Burns, 74, of New Philadelphia went home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
Born on October 3, 1948, in Dover, he was the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Ruth (Curtis) Burns. He was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Patrick honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
For 42 years, he worked at the Dover Post Office where he was the head window clerk. Patrick loved being outdoors riding his motorcycle and doing all outdoor activities. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He grew up attending Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia and later joined the NewPointe Community Church of Dover where he was active with the security team, head greeter, and he was known for bringing new guests to the church.
He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Bonnie (Crowe) Burns; his children and God-Daughter, Stephanie Burns Withem, Brian Rabes, Adam Burns, and Jessica Carr; his grandchildren, Braxton Rabes, Breezy Rabes, Bradley Beane, Nathaniel Withem, Jaelyn Withem, Carter Ingram, and Landon Carr; his great-grandchildren, Athena Withem and Bentley Withem; his sister, Bobbi (Chuck) Haupert; brother, Dennis (Una) Burns; his brother-in-law, Wade (Monica) Crowe; and many nieces and nephews and very close friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Burns; brother-in-law, Boyd Crowe; and his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Victoria Zuchegno.

Friends are invited to call at the NewPointe Community Church in Dover on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 5:00-6:00 pm. Pastor Chad Stutzman will officiate a celebration of Patrick’s life beginning at 6:00 pm.
