Patsy Jo Smith – October 14, 2022

Patsy Jo Smith, 87, passed away on October 14, 2022, at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Newcomerstown, OH. She was born in Cambridge, OH on August 11, 1935, the eleventh child of Albert Levi and Glenna Grace (McConkey) Gibson. She married the love of her life, Carl Thomas Smith on January 27, 1957, and celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Patsy worked at Newcomerstown Exempted Village School as a librarian for 20 years before retiring in 2009. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, crocheting, and watching Jeopardy. Pat was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, where she taught the adult Sunday School class for more than 50 years.

Patsy is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Dave) Mason and Lori (Thomas) Taylor of Newcomerstown; her grandchildren, Keeley (Ed) Humberson of PA, Kadi (Todd) Bell of Kimbolton, Jordan (Kelly) Taylor of New Philadelphia, Jonathan (Skylar) Taylor of Newcomerstown. Also, surviving are her great-grandchildren, Vincent Humberson, Avery Bell, Clara Taylor, and soon-to-be baby Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and all of her 10 brothers and sisters. Graveside services for Patsy Smith will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM at West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown, with Rev. Eric Miller officiating.
