Paul F. Austin Jr., age 42, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, died Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2026 in the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover.
He was born November 17, 1983, in Dover, Ohio and was the son of the late Paul Franklin, Sr. and Barbara Ann (Cool) Austin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Swegheimer.
Paul was a former truck driver by trade and also was employed part-time at Zifaro’s Pizza in Uhrichsville. He was fond of building model cars with his son. He was an enthusiastic derby car builder and loved to participate in demolition derby events. He recently purchased a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and learned to appreciate the open road on two wheels, and the camaraderie that it created. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his four children Paul Franklin (Haley) Austin III of Scio, OH, Brooke Lynn Austin of Dover, and Kenton Grimm and Ellie Austin, both of Port Washington, OH, his grandson, Emmitt Albright of Scio, nine siblings Jennifer Meese of New Philadelphia, OH, Judith (David) Redman of Newcomerstown, OH, David Quarles of Dover, OH, Samuel Shafer of Uhrichsville, Scott (Ashley) Shafer of Dennison, OH, Tiffaney (Kevin Kail ) Austin of Uhrichsville, Cody (Kayla) Fox-Quillen of Uhrichsville, Blaze (Tori) Fox-Quillen, and David (Kylie) Austin, both of New Philadelphia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 22, 2026 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Pastors Larry and Ruthie Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
