Paul F. Lorenz, 88, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

He was born in New Bedford on March 9, 1934, to the late John and Emma (Schweikert) Lorenz and married Sandra K. Immel on September 27, 1993.  She survives.

He was retired from Coshocton Stainless, known now as Cleveland Cliffs, and had worked at Claycraft Brick Co.

He served in the Army and was a member of the Millersburg American Legion.

He was a member of the First United Church of Sugarcreek and also attended New Pointe Church in Dover.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Mark (Stephanie) Lorenz of New Albany, Steven (Malinda) Lorenz of Fresno, and Timothy (Terri) Lorenz of Kentucky; stepdaughters, Robin  (Jeff) Kaser of Sugarcreek and Tammy (Albert) Gutheridge of Baltic; 5 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and waiting for the arrival of his fifth in September; and his siblings, Clara Turner of N. Canton and Glenn (Erma) Lorenz of Coshocton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Arthur, Eddie, Jay, Leroy, and Charles; sister Lucille Jacobs, and two infant sisters, Marie and Katherine.

In keeping with Paul’s wishes, a private family graveside will be held in Union Hill Cemetery with Pastor Bill Eckert officiating. Military Honors are conducted by both the Millersburg American Legion and Sugarcreek American Legion. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
