Paul R. Frey, 79, of Midvale passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital at Canton.
He was born on May 10, 1943, in Dover and was the son of the late Paul E. and Ruth Knipe Frey. Paul was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, June (Don) Winkler, and his mother-in-law, Wanda Zeigler.
He was a dedicated employee at Greer Steel having retired in 2007 after 43 years of service. Paul was a member of Holmes Church, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing; he belonged to the Tuscarawas County Bass Masters and the Somerset Bass Masters. Paul was a fan of NASCAR, watching the Cleveland Guardians and playing dart ball. But most importantly, he loved his family; they were the center of his world.
Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Brenda Zeigler Frey whom he married on August 20, 1971; daughters, Gina (Fiance, Jason) Pugh of Freeport, and Lisa (Aaron) Davis of Midvale; grandsons, Evan and Liam Davis; father in law, Bill Zeigler and numerous extended family members.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A service celebrating Paul’s life will be held on Monday, October 24th starting at 7:00 pm in the Dover funeral home with Pastor Roger Warnes officiating. The family will be greeting friends on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
