Penny Speer, age 66, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in her residence.
Born in Leamington, Ontario Canada on August 5, 1959, she was a daughter of Larry Hillman and the late Peggy (Bell) Hillman. On July 23, 2003, she married David Speer.
Penny loved to travel with David to visit family. She and David also traveled to Las Vegas to enjoy another passion of her life, casinos. When they were not traveling, they could be found outside enjoying nature or sitting beside their pool.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Michael (Pamela) Church, Angie (Jon Fahrner) Church, and Patrick (Maria) Church; step-children, Leslie (Tim) Moreland, Tonya (Scott) Kreitzer, and Tim (Holly) Speer; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five step-great-grandchildren; father, Larry Hillman; brother, Tim (Cathy) Hillman; sisters, Laurie (Ken) Niefer, and Vickie Dorey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Penny was preceded in death on September 29, 2025, by her husband, David Speer; and mother, Peggy Hillman.
Penny and David will be laid to rest at a later date at Ohio’s Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
