Penny Zimmerman-Hall, 81, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Altercare of Nobles Pond in Canton, after a lengthy illness. Born June 2, 1942 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Scott “Scotty” and Edythe M. (Soule) Zimmerman.

Penny grew up in Dennison, was a 1960 graduate of Dennison High School, and was a member of Dennison Presbyterian Church. On June 5, 1966, she married John Lewis Hall with whom she celebrated 57 years of loving marriage the week before her passing. After living in Michigan for several years, they moved to the Massillon area in 1969 where they have lived since. She had most recently attended John Knox Presbyterian Church in Jackson Township. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she was an administrative assistant at Babcock and Wilcox in Barberton for many years. Penny was a woman of many interests. She enjoyed reading, fishing with her husband, shopping trips which she always considered her “retail therapy”, and watching NASCAR, having been a big fan of Rusty Wallace.

She is survived by her husband, John, of the home; daughters, Wendy Hall-Bambeck and Melissa (Alan) Hall-Seffens; grandchildren, Shade Seffens and Luke Bambeck; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Amicone.

In keeping with Penny’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.
