Mary Alice Reporting –

City and village officials are working to keep the Uhrichsville BMV location open following a decline in revenue and the state agency agreeing to not present a new bid for proposals.

At Thursday evening Uhrichsville council meeting, Mayor Jim Zucal noted that he had been talking with Dennison’s mayor and the Twin City Chamber of Commerce, along with representative Al Landis and Brett Hillyer.

The Twin City Chamber posted that a petition is currently in the BMV office through this Friday. An online petition is available.

The location is set to close toward the end of April.

According to the Ohio BMV, “the Uhrichsville Deputy Registrar location completed a total of 36,513 transactions in 2023, which is among the lowest in the state.”
