The ballot is shaping up for the May 6th primary.
Tuscarawas county Board of Elections Director Gail Garbrandt says they received about 20 candidate petitions before Wednesday’s filing deadline, including for at-large council seats Dover, Uhrichsville, and Dennison.
The elections board will meet Monday morning to certify the candidates who filled out their paperwork correctly and had enough valid signatures.
Garbrandt says they also have two liquor options to review and about a dozen tax issues, one being the New Philadelphia schools bond issue that failed in November.
The winners of any contested partisan races will advance to the general election in November to face each other and any independent challengers.
