Philip Michael McDonald, 56, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, after a brief illness. Born April 11, 1966, in Dennison, he was the son of the late Oakley Osborne McDonald and Lorraine Evelyn (Hollis) McDonald.

Philip was a lifelong Twin City resident who had worked for several area roofing and construction companies, as well in oil fields. He attended Bethel Worship Center in Uhrichsville and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to one and all, as he would open his home to any friend who needed a roof over their head. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, truly loved helping people, and had a heart of gold.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Carol McDonald and Jeff and Louise McDonald; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Sam Brown; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, including Jack Ream and Mike Herko with whom he was closest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth McDonald, and nephew, John McDonald.

According to Philip’s wishes, cremation is planned. Pastor John Stevenson will officiate a 4:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, July 16, at Bethel Worship Center in Uhrichsville. Philip’s family will receive callers from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the church, prior to his service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family in the care of the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home to help defray his final expenses and to Community Hospice.
