Phillip W. Hochstetler, 63, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Union Hospital in Dover.
He was born in Holmes County on February 7, 1960, to the late Eli and Betty (Nussbaum) Hochstetler and married Chris Gerber on October 29, 1983. She survives.
He was retired from truck driving for Yoder Lumber. He was a member of Grace Church in Berlin.
He enjoyed hunting, horses, and especially spending time with his family and having cookouts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Jason (Elizabeth) Hochstetler of Columbus and Brittany (Jonathan) Hershberger of Sugarcreek; grandchildren. Paige and Allie Hochstetler and Dakota and Teagan Hershberger; siblings, Gwen Biddle of Wooster, Cheryl (Dewey) Gerber and Donna (Dan) Birky both of Sugarcreek, Donavan (Paula) Hochstetler of Idaho and Jeff (Bobbi) Hochstetler of East Sparta; and brother-in-law, Richard Feller of Dover.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Feller.
Services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11 AM at Grace Church in Berlin with Pastor Chad Stutzman officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 PM at Grace Church in Berlin and Friday from 10-11 AM at the Church prior to services.
