Tuscarawas County will celebrate America’s 250th this weekend without the explosions of fireworks usually associated with our country’s birthday.
Instead, the Tuscarawas County 250 All American Picnic and Homecoming on Saturday will conclude with a patriotic drone show.
Event spokesperson Rhonda Jordan initially wasn’t sure what to expect, but now she’s excited after seeing a video from New Philadelphia native Doug Engler’s Nite Brite Drones company.
The Drone show is just a part Saturday’s event at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds from 4 to 9 p.m. There’s a car show, live entertainment, a kids’ zone and bounce village, food vendors, a beer garden, a helicopter landing and more.
Visitors are also welcome to bring their own food, lawn chairs and blankets to set up a picnic to watch the drone show or the day-long festivities.
