Community leaders are shining a light on child safety as April marks Child Abuse Awareness Month.
Noah’s Hope Child Advocacy Center has placed 1,500 blue pinwheels on the steps of the Tuscarawas County Courthouse — each one representing a child reportedly abused or neglected in the county last year.
Director Mandy Willet says the display is a reminder that every report matters.
Willet says Noah’s Hope served 232 child victims last year, providing a safe, child-focused space to speak with trained professionals and connect with needed treatment.
Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services received more than 1,700 reports of possible abuse or neglect last year, leading to 321 investigations.
