New Philadelphia School District Superintendent Amy Wentworth appears set to become the new superintendent at Indian Valley Local Schools. Her husband has held that position for 13 years.
The Indian Valley Board of Education is meeting Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with a single item on the legislative agenda – approving a three-year contract with Amy Wentworth as superintendent with an annual salary of 145-thousand dollars.
Amy Wentworth has been New Philadelphia’s superintendent since 2021 and was assistant superintendent for six years before that. She last had her contract renewed in 2023 in a deal that was supposed to last through the end of the 2026-27 school year.
Ira Wentworth has been Indian Valley’s superintendent since 2013 and was principal of Midvale Elementary for 6 years before that.
School officials said they did not want to discuss the hiring until after the School Board’s approval.
