Monday night, Dover Mayor Shane Gunnoe provided updates on several long-awaited city projects.
He did not have an opening date for the new city hall but noted that the last major construction piece is scheduled for next week.
That’s the installation of an elevator in what was the First Federal Bank building on North Wooster Avenue about a block from the existing City Hall. The city bought the building and is renovating it using 3 million dollars in bonds issued in 2024.
Meanwhile, Gunnoe says new pickle ball courts are ready for their debut this spring with a ribbon cutting scheduled for April 13th at 4 p.m.
Gunnoe says the Kiwanis Club has nearly finished installing a new playground at Deis Hill Park. And the city is moving forward with plans for an asphalt walking path at the riverfront park and the extension of the Towpath Trail. Dover is also accepting applications for summer help in the parks, electric generation, water and cemetery departments.
