Tappan Lake Park has new outdoor amenities just in time for the summer season.

Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District Communications and Marketing Director Adria Bergeron says outdoor recreational features include a wildflower and pollinator habitat trail, a nature-based playground, community fire pit, and basketball and pickleball courts.

“We’re working to add the amenities here that will continue to draw people in the great outdoors and come down to whichever lake you enjoy. Our first mission was to update the campgrounds but the second phase of what we’re working on is a lot of the amenities.”

Meanwhile, the $475,000 bike pump track opened over the weekend inviting those of all ages.

“Basically, hills and curves and fun little ramps to navigate your bike through, and a great way for kids to get out and enjoy some fun activities outside.”

There’s a main track and next to it is a tot track for smaller kids. BMX bike rentals are available for children and adults.
