A 28-year-old remains in the Tuscarawas County Jail following a high-speed pursuit.
Sheriff Office records indicate the Thursday chase, at 10:30pm, began after a deputy initiated a stop for a speed violation. The vehicle was going 67 in a 35-mph area on W. High Avenue, near Bluebell Drive.
However, the vehicle continued onto Stonecreek Road, where speeds reached over 110 mph.
The driver lost control, and the automobile rolled several times. The male, later identified as Keelan Harris, fled on foot and was located shortly after on I-77.
The Newcomerstown man was transported to a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Harris is being held for reckless operation and failure to comply with the order of a police officer.
