The Rainbow Connection is having a productive summer in assisting disabled and disadvantaged residents of the county along with the organizations and schools that serve them.
Director Perci Garner says some of the recent projects his non-profit charity has funded include 30-thousand dollars for starlight enterprises on a new handicap-accessible van and nearly 16 thousand dollars to the Newcomerstown Historical Society for a new handicap-accessible ramp at its Temperance Tavern Museum.
Garner says the Rainbow Connection has an 11-person board of volunteers who hear the requests for project funds and decide whether to approve them.
Other funds awarded include 12-hundred dollars to the Lacey PAC Adaptive Movement Center for a sensory room and one thousand dollars to Newcomerstown schools, for sensory equipment.
