Rebecca L. “Becky” Hixenbaugh, 80, of Dover, OH passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Arbors at Stow.

Born December 23, 1942, in Graysville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dillie Ross and Dorothy Grimm Smalley. She was a 1961 graduate of Salem High School.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Deward Hixenbaugh, whom she married on August 11, 1962. She is also survived by her children Ginger (Stephen) Smith of Midlothian, TX, and Aaron (Dani) Hixenbaugh of Akron, OH; grandchildren Kyle Smith, Mitchell Smith, Joshua (Stephanie) Stevenson, Noah (Kyle) Hixenbaugh, Gabriel (Taylor) Hixenbaugh, Hannah (James) Hixenbaugh-Miller; great-grandchildren Cy and Maci Stevenson, Emerson and Elias Hixenbaugh; sister-in-law Sherry (Terry) Tilley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dixie (Rex) Rohm, of Wind Ridge, PA.

Becky enjoyed gardening, baking, antiquing, and crafting. She started The Two of Us Crafts with her best friend, Frances Mason. She loved spending time talking and drinking coffee with friends and family on her porch swing.

To honor Rebecca’s wishes there will be no public service or calling hours. Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling the arrangements. A day of remembrance will be held by the family in the spring.
