Rhonda Lee Avon, 54, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family and friends, following a bravely fought battle with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Born April 17, 1971 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of Theodore A. Lester of Uhrichsville and Joyce F. (Sturdivant) Lester Love of Uhrichsville.
Rhonda grew up in Newcomerstown and was a member of Indian Valley High School’s first graduating class in 1989. She went on to her earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Kent State University, preparing for her long career as a Registered Nurse. She started her career at Twin City Hospital in Dennison and spent most of her years there as a surgical nurse. She then spent the remainder of her career at Ember Home Care in Uhrichsville. She loved being a nurse and enjoyed her time at both places. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Eagles Aerie #2264.
In addition to her parents, Rhonda leaves behind her sons, Justin Avon and Jayden Avon; grandson, Niko Avon; sister, Sherri Lester; and companion, Joe Bollon. She will also be missed by her fur-kid, Jewel. Rhonda was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Lester-Wyatt, and nephew, Jeremy Lester Little.
According to Rhonda’s wishes, cremation is planned. Her family will celebrate her life at a gathering to be held on a future date. This website will be updated when details are confirmed.
