Richard A. “Rick” Vesco, 66, of Bolivar passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Community Hospice Truman House from lung cancer. Over the years Rick courageously battled cancer with unwavering strength and a positive attitude.
Born in Dover on July 20, 1956, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Ageos) Vesco. He was a 1974 graduate of Tusky Valley High School and was married to the love of his life, the former Holly Krantz, for forty years.
Woodworking was his true passion. He felt blessed to have his shop and use his skills to create items for family and friends. He had compassion for homeless cats and welcomed several into his home to love and spoil with treats. He couldn’t go into the kitchen without them behind him meowing for a treat.
Rick is survived by his wife Holly; brother Steven Vesco of Stark County; brother-in-law Doug (Sharon) Krantz; sister-in-law Jan (Brian) Kelker; nephews and nieces Zac (Erin Norman) Krantz, Ashley (Nick) Kerns, Tyler Krantz, Michaela (Drew) Helton, Kate (Brandon) Cassill; and godchildren Cory (Casey) Wigington, and Taylor (Jeff) Kirk. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Bob Vesco.
A graveside service for Rick will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery in Bolivar at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bonnie Grimaldi officiating.
