Richard A. Trimmer, 63, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, after a brief illness.
Born in Dennison, Rich was a son of Donald R. and Virginia (Arnold) Trimmer.
Rich worked as a machinist for Gradall until his retirement. In his free-time he enjoyed sports, but especially golfing and cheering on the Cleveland sports teams. He was an avid Browns fan. He also loved to go to the casino, and listen to music. His greatest joy however, was watching his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife the former Lisa Clay whom he married on June 21, 1986; his daughter, Launie (Aaron) Tice of Bolivar; son, Kolin (Mark) Trimmer-Cyrus of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Jaxson, and Harlow; mother, Virginia Trimmer; sisters, Beth (Donald) Johnson, and Jayne (Randy) Clantz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rich was preceded in death by his father, Donald “Moe” Trimmer; mother-in-law, Gloria Clay; and sister-in-law, Deborah Barr.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Rev. Wally Anderson will lead a funeral service in St. James Lutheran Church at Tuscarawas on Friday, March 7, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
