Richard Dennis Pozzi, known by his friends and family as Denny, passed away at the age of 86 in his home, while surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, December 29, 2025. Born June 25, 1939 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, he was the only child of the late Richard Edward and Edith (Trepin) Pozzi.
Denny was a lifelong Twin City resident and a graduate of Dennison High School in 1958 before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He returned home to a 43-year career with Truck Sales and Service in their parts department. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison throughout his life and had achieved the honor of 4th Degree Knight at the Dennison Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed membership in the American Italian Club in Dennison, the Uhrichsville Eagles, and New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445. Above all else, Denny treasured the time that he spent with his family.
On April 29, 1961, Denny married the former Virginia L. Maxwell who survives him at their home. He is also survived by their daughters, Jody (Doug) Ross and Julie (Todd) Thompson; grandchildren, Dougie Ross, Ricky (Chelsea) Ross, Erin Ross, Katie Ross, and Raleigh Thompson; great-grandsons, Lincoln and Landon Ross; his sister-in-law, Susan Maxwell; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Denny’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public service. He will be interred in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Ohio’s Hospice Foundation, Immaculate Conception Church or Immaculate Conception School, in lieu of flowers.
