Gwen Rummell Reporting –

Staff and patrons of the new Rittman branch of the Wayne County Public Library celebrated its official opening.

Concrete planning for the branch began as early as 2015.

Around 100 people, including area government officials, attended the ceremony and toured the $5.9 million, 14,000 square-foot building. The library features an open floor plan, adult reading area, special space for children and teens, and an outdoor reading garden.

The Rittman branch is also the site of the delivery area for the entire library system.

The new library is located on the site of the old middle school.
