Mary Alice Reporting –

As motorists head to or from work on Wednesday new roadwork is expected to begin on State Route 800, SR 39, and SR 241.

For Tuscarawas County, the upcoming closure is south of Dennison on Route 800. Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell notes that this project will be in place for 45 days.

“And that’s for a bridge removal project. It’s actually over an old abandoned railroad that they’re going to be removing the bridge and then filling in. Traffic will be detoured via US 250 east to US 22 west, US 22 west back to SR 800 and reverse.”

Going over to just west of Millersburg, on SR 39, roadwork will begin on Thursday for a culvert replacement.

“At the intersection of SR 754 and SR 39, we will be maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction with temporary traffic signals. You may see some delays at times and so just plan ahead.”

The final new project, set to start July 5th, in Mt. Hope, is for sidewalk construction along SR 241. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and the completion date is by August 31, 2023.

More details on roadwork throughout Ohio, including ongoing and upcoming, can be found on the OHGO app or at www.ohgo.com. Borell adds for motorists to slow down and pay attention, especially in work zones.
