Robert Allen Tedrick, 89, of New Philadelphia, formerly a longtime Dennison resident, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, after a sudden illness. Born July 4, 1934, in Newcomerstown, he was the last surviving child of the late William L. and Mary (Sigman) Tedrick, having been preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay (Smitley) Tedrick, on February 29, 2024, after enjoying over 47 years together having been married since November 12, 1976.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Michelle (companion, Don Hambleton) Tedrick; stepchildren, Sandra Cox, Ron (Denise) Tedrick, and Melissa “Missy” Otte; granddaughter, Taylor; step grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, John, Kyle, Aaron, Blake, Cassiedenea, and Raun; step great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Daniel, Patrick, Arianna, Riley, Stetson, and Annabelle, with another expected; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob had a long career with Watson Brothers Construction until his retirement in the mid 80’s. He was an avid fan of the Browns, Cavs, and Guardians, but drew the most joy in his life from time spent with his family – especially his granddaughter, Taylor, whom he called “Kay Kay”.

According to Bob’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. His family will celebrate his life privately, and he will be interred in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
